People Helping Cats ("we," "us," or "our") is a product of Verbena Projects LLC. We provide website hosting and template services for cat rescue groups and colony caretakers. Our website is https://peoplehelpingcats.com.

  • Password (stored as a bcrypt hash — never in plain text)
  • Colony name and domain preference
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)
  • EIN (for nonprofit verification only)
  • IP address (for security and fraud prevention)

3. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To provision and maintain your website
  • To process payments via Stripe
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing receipts, site status updates)
  • To verify nonprofit status via the ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer API
  • To provide customer support

We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Brevo — transactional email delivery.
  • ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer — EIN verification for nonprofit applications.
  • ResellerClub / ampdomains — domain registration and management.

5. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, we will delete your personal information within 90 days upon request. Billing records are retained for 7 years as required by law.

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS/SSL, bcrypt password hashing, and regular backups. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your data.

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in to your account. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
